This Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown has hit us all so hard. One, in particular, was not able to go to the gym. With no access to equipment, I had to use household items as substitute for weights. All I have, besides my gym wear and shoes, was my Yoga mat. In the early days, I brushed off one day after another as my ‘break’ day. After a week, I started panicking that I was going to start losing the muscles I had slaved to build over the years. A big NO. I started with doing floor exercises, push-ups, squats, lunges etc. But the environment wasn’t so motivating and I lack the space in my small apartment. What used to be 100 squats became half. What used to be 1½ hours of exercise became 45 minutes with lots of breaks, especially with a toddler screaming for attention. So, here are my tips to take charge of yourself and continue with your exercise regimen during the lockdown. 1. Isolate Tell everyone that you have a conference call.
